Aid Effectiveness Portal

|
AidEffectiveness.org aims to support policy makers and practitioners working to boost the effectiveness of aid and its contribution to development in their countries. The 2005 Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the 2008 Accra Agenda for Action set out to accomplish a major shift in the way development assistance is provided. Their core principles – ownership, alignment, harmonisation, managing for results and mutual accountability – add up to a radical change for both donors and partner countries.
This web portal supports country level practitioners that are trying to apply these international principles of aid effectiveness – to localize them so they fit their country context, and underpin efforts to move from principles to action. AidEffectiveness.org provides:
- Paris and Accra – documents and links on the Paris Declaration and Accra Agenda for Action.
- Thematic Resources – on topics ranging from ownership, to managing for results, to capacity development, to gender.
- Regional Resources – with a growing databse of resources and links to websites for countries around the world that have signed the Paris Declaration.
- International Resources - on major international issues and events that address the challenges and promise of aid effectiveness.
- Community – a community discussion page where you can sign up for a newsletter on innovations in aid effectiveness, and contribute your views to the community of practitioners.
- Aid Tracking – ideas on approaches, policy, capacity building and better nationally-owned systems for aid tracking, highlighted in the Accra Agenda for Action.
The information has been gathered through an independent review of the literature – and we rely on your contributions to keep it up to date and ensure it meets your needs! Please feel free to Contact Us to make suggestions or contribute resources. |
